School of Lyon around 1680. Oil on canvas "The Last Supper". This ambitious painting presents beautiful and very original details such as the red-haired Judas or the Saint John, a portrait of a young adult, or the idea of an oval table for the Last Supper, with a rich still life. The geometrical faces of the figures, with the triangular nose seen on Christ, or the classical landscape of the doorway evoke the influence of the great Lyon painter Thomas Blanchet (c. 1614-1689). Provenance: Sotheby's Paris sale, 27 June 2002, no. 4 (as France circa 1680). Inscription on the back of the canvas "Px Bourdon". Expert : cabinet Turquin. 118x161 cm
